Monday Night Football Pics

OK, so these pics are a little late.

My dad and I are in the midst of a possible lifelong father-son project. You know how some people make it a goal to visit all the Major League ballparks? Well, dad and I have a plan to visit all the NFL stadiums.

We've done 2 thus far (and seen the Buffalo Bills at both). Anyway, these are some random pics from the Bills Monday Night Football game (11-17-08) against the Cleveland Browns. Enjoy!

PS: See the post titled "Vacation Pics- Rams vs. Bills" for more details.

Vacation Pics- Rams vs. Bills

This one requires a bit of an explanation.

See, my dad and I are involved in a little father-son project. Since we both love football, we've decided to make it our goal to watch a game at every NFL stadium. It's OK if we don't see the Rams at every stadium. True, this means giving money to both the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots. But I figure, if we eat before we go to the game, we don't have to give them as much.

Anyway, the 1st installment of this project was 9-28-08. The Buffalo Bills played my beloved but really-sucking-right-now Rams in STL. Enjoy the pics!

An Evening At The Anchor Bar

So, last night, we went to the Buffalo icon known as The Anchor Bar. It's the birthplace of Buffalo Wings, for those who may not know. Anyway, it was me, my sister Missy, and some friends from Joliet, IL (Tracy, Mary, Bob, and Kim). We all had a terrific time.

I told everybody that The Anchor Bar had the best wings in the world. And "if you disagree, I will come into your room at night and punch you repeatedly." Nobody disagreed, even outside of the fear of reprisal. Anyway, we ate the wings, heard the Jazz music, had some rounds of Blue, and just enjoyed life.

Enjoy the pics. The first one was taken in the van on the way to Buffalo. I tried to get a shot of the sunset.

A Cute Story

So, my family came up here to help me celebrate my congregation's 125th anniversary. And when they got here, I gave everybody the grand tour, as my sister and her kids hadn't seen it yet.

Anyway, we went up to the sanctuary's balcony. My niece (6 years old)said something really cute. When we looked out over the balcony, she said, "It's like a theater. get some popcorn and watch the pastor." We all had a good laugh.

Just thought I'd share.

A Busy Day

Yesterday was pretty busy for me. You know, dear readers, from yesterday's post that I started CPE. Based on the discussion and the material, I think CPE will truly be beneficial. It will also be personal and challenging.

I've started reading one of the books for the class. It's "Generation to Generation" by Edwin Friedman. Lots of interesting information, but not exactly a page turner. I'm on about page 30, I think. Luckily, I the assignment is to have half of it read by the end of August.

Also, my family came up yesterday evening. They're in town to help me celebrate my congregation's 125th anniversary. They're staying with me until Thursday morning, then they're lodging at Camp Pioneer because the small choral group that I've imported for my vicarage congregation will be staying with me. It's my mom, pop, my sister and her 2 kids. I'll post some pictures this evening or tomorrow morning.
